EA partners to bring indie games by Zoink, Glowmade, and Hazelight Studios to PC and console

As part of its drive to support “up-and-coming studios by showcasing unique, innovative games to more players on all platforms”, Electronic Arts has announced it has partnered with Zoink Games, Glowmade, and Hazelight Studios to bring “three new promising and independent development projects coming to consoles and PC”.

Revealing the new partnerships at EA Play’s E3 2019 presentation, EA says “the success of these partnerships has expanded the collaborative charter with new independent developers”.

Following Fe, Zoink’s next game is Lost in Random which is said to offer “a unique spin on puzzles and combat”. Making its EA Originals debut, Glowmade has revealed RustHeart, a game in which players can “forge an endearing friendship with a courageous robot hero”.

Hazelight’s follow up to the critically-acclaimed A Way Out has not been revealed, but EA reports the unannounced title “builds on the studio’s expertise and success” and will offer “a new cooperative experience”.

“We continue to connect innovative and creatively distinct new games from the best and boldest independent game makers to a global audience of players.” said Matt Bilbey, EVP strategic growth. “We want to offer our players the broadest, highest quality content possible, with the best access possible. Whether you join us to play EA’s biggest franchises like Apex Legends, one of the more than 200 games available from more than 85 content partners in our Origin Access subscription*, or for innovative EA Originals titles like A Way Out, we have something compelling to offer.”

In other E3 2019 news, Xbox has revealed its next-gen console, codenamed Project Scarlett, will release “Holiday 2020”, while its streaming platform, xCloud, is expected to roll out in October 2019. Bethesda also announced its own take on streaming technology, Orion, which will also be compatible with Google’s Stadia.
