GOG debuts refund guarantee for faulty digital titles

Digital PC games distributor GOG has announced a 30-day refund program that offers customers a money-back guarantee if the product purchased fails to run properly.

Specifically, the DRM-free games seller will fully refund the amount on any product within 30 days of purchase that carries "technical problems or game-breaking bugs that prevent you from finishing your game.”

The feature’s FAQ page further explains that the guarantee is good regardless of whether or not your rig meets the game’s system requirements – so long as you’ve tried all of the suggested solutions from GOG’s customer support.

As for the potential abuse the refund system might suffer, the company had this to say:

"How many games can you ask for money back? We’re humans here, so there’s no hard numbers. If it seems like you’re exploiting us, we’ll let you know and tell you that this will be your final refund offer from us."

The guarantee program kicked off yesterday, but retroactively applies to games bought in the last month as well.
