The 2010 Women In Games conference will take place at Bradford College in March, event organisers have announced.
Now in its seventh year, the Women In Games conference looks to debate and explore the role of female developers and executives in the game industry.
The event will showcase academic research and latest technologies relating to games and women.
Yet the central premise to this year’s event will be diversity – approaching debates with a view to nationality and ethnicity, as well as gender.
The theme of the event comes as an escalating number of publishers look to outsource projects to wider territories, while the market itself becomes increasingly global.
“Technology is a global industry” said Dr Ian Palmer, Dean of School of Computing, Informatics and Media at the University of Bradford.
“Our students need to be ready for tomorrow,” he added. “The University of Bradford is active in promoting games and technology to women and those traditionally not involved within the industry and we are passionately dedicated to celebrating diversity and confronting inequality.”
