In what could be the final step in Outlast 2’s Australian censorship dance, the Australian censors have now decided to give a rating to the game, meaning it can now be released without any cuts.
It was refused classification, effectively banning the game in the country, for a scene which contained implied sexual violence. The Australian Classification Board has now reviewed the game’s content again and is allowing its launch on April 26th with an R18+ rating.
Just earlier this week an Australian senator told censors to "leave games alone."
The studio behind Outlast 2, Red Barrels, has said they’ve not cut anything or made an Australia-only version. "There will be only one version of Outlast 2 available worldwide."
The classification states that the game will have ‘high impact’ with strong themes of violence and sex, also containing strong language, nudity, moderate references to drug use
